Nicky’s Pledges For Walkden South

  • I want lower Council Tax and better value for money
  • I will oppose overdevelopment of apartments
  • I will fight against Labour’s £7.50 per day congestion tax on motorists
  • I want tough action on vandalism, graffiti and litter
  • I will press for more facilities for our young people
  • I will fight for more investment in roads and pavements
  • I will oppose Labour’s decision to close Salford Royal (Hope) Maternity Services
  • I will listen to all local residents

Put Walkden first - vote Conservative on Thursday 1st May!

A Message From Nicky Turner

As I have been out and about, local residents in Walkden South have told me that the Council should provide the services that they charge so much for, and that local residents are fed up with paying more and getting less.

I believe that the Conservative Councillors are striving to make Salford a better City. If you elect me I would be proud to be one of them.

I am sorry I am unable to meet you all but if you would like me to come and see you, please contact me.

Your vote is important - please use it to make Walkden a better place by voting Conservative on the 1st May.

Thank you

Nicky Turner

David Cameron Backs Nicky!

Conservative Party leader David Cameron MP - visiting Salford for the fourth time this year - took some time out to discuss local issues with Walkden South Conservative candidate Nicky Turner and colleagues.

David and Nicky discussed a number of issues, including the lack of investment in Walkden, anti-social behaviour, opposition to congestion charging and Labour’s shameful decision to penalise hard-working local residents on lower incomes by abolishing the 10p rate of tax.

Tesco Planning Application

Tesco have submitted a planning application to demolish their existing supermarket in Walkden town centre and build a new store. You can find more details and a planning comment form here.

Your Conservative Councillors in Walkden will be studying the application closely and welcome any comments residents might have about the proposals.

Nicky Turner - Your Conservative Candidate For Walkden South

Conservative Local Action Team member Nicky Turner has been selected as your Conservative candidate for Walkden South ward for the forthcoming local elections in May.

Nicky lives in the local area and is now retired having run her own small business. Her husband Les is one of your Walkden South Conservative Councillors.

Nicky said:

“Local residents in Walkden deserve a strong voice on the Council. Labour do not listen to the concerns of local residents who are still fed up of paying more and getting less from Salford City Council. If elected I will stand up for Walkden and make sure that the concerns of local residents are recognised. It would be a great honour to have your support on 1st May.”
