Your local Conservative Councillors were delighted to support the Justice4Georges march organised by pupils at St George’s RC High School. The march was a real show of support for the school and the whole community should be very proud of the organisers.
St George’s is an excellent school at the heart of the local community and your local Conservative Councillors and activists will continue to support the views of pupils, parents, staff and the local community about the school’s future.
Local residents may well already have seen the article in today’s Manchester Evening News about a potential new Catholic “super school”.
Walkden Conservative Councillor Iain Lindley said:
“As a local Councillor I have said from the outset that the Council should not be closing down a good school - and St George’s is a very good school. That remains the case. Any new school would not be St George’s.

Local bus company Vale of Manchester have introduced a new service, numbered 514, linking Walkden with Farnworth, Little Lever, Radcliffe and Bury to the north and Worsley, Winton and the Trafford Centre to the south.
This is the first direct bus to the Trafford Centre on weekdays since First Bus withdrew their 554 service last year.
